Kilo Alpha Tango, out!

With the unwavering encouragement and support of my husband Chris, and the skilled and endlessly patient efforts of Flight Instructor Extraordinaire Bart van Essen, I finally realized a life-long dream and earned my Private Pilot's License.

I love everything about flying. (Okay, everything except the cost.) I love the discipline that's required. (A surprising discovery for a make-it-up-as-needed "artsy" type.) I love the challenges. (When Mother Nature talks, you'd better listen.) I love the "fraternity of flyers." (I pride myself on being a bit of a geek and aviation-types are a pretty geeky lot, by and large.) And I love the freedom – being able to hop into a plane and "rise above it all" whenever the mood strikes.
